Although the developer version is available since last June, Yosemite OS X is now available for all, and most importantly a free download. More than a million members of the Mac community have registered to be part of the public beta, Apple has mentioned Thursday.

A worthy successor to OS X Mavericks is designed to streamline the mobile and Apple desktop operating systems . Thus, once installed Yosemite, your office more closely resembles that of his little brother, iOS.

Some of the most notable changes come in the notification center of Yosemite. A new feature provides for "Today," where you will find the current weather, notifications from your calendar, etc ... In addition, you have a modular system of widgets with a simple drag and drop, imitating its iOS counterpart. Spotlight, the search tool for Mac, has been integrated into Safari, and appears in the middle of the screen to allow users the ability to search for files stored locally, but also on the web and on iCloud.

Airdrop between iOS and Mac is finally available.

The new "Continuity" feature on OS X Yosemite allows users to start working on a device and finish on another. In other words, an email began on an iPhone can be completed and sent on a Mac. Continuity also allows users to send and receive text messages and phone calls between a desktop and a mobile device.

iOS 8.1: a deployment scheduled for Monday

Craig Federighi came on stage to allay some fears iOS 8.1 will arrive well Monday, and it will bring ... well, pretty much what we expected .

The company seems to have listened to the letter the user feedback, including signing the return of the "film" in the pictures. Indeed, the "recent additions" folder back to the original "film" name. Speaking of photos, the update will also include a public beta version of iCloud Photo Library. Users will be able to store pictures and videos, the format and the original resolution. If 5GB no cost, you will have to pay a few euros for extra storage space. Rest assured, the price is clearly reasonable! 20GB for € 0.99 per month, 200GB for $ 3.99 per month, up to 1TB.

With its OS X counterpart, the iOS version of iWork has also been updated and is available for free.

Also as expected, iOS 8.1 will provide Apple Pay and "Continuity" features.

Apple has had some problems with iOS 8.0.1, and always hope to catch up with iOS 8.1.
