Officials Ubuntu Linux operating system for laptops, desktops and servers have worked for many months on a dedicated smartphone and tablet version and hope to see the first of these devices leave the factory manufacturers this year or early 2015.

If Meizu and bq have already announced their intention to market smartphones with Touch Ubuntu as OS, it seems that Ubuntu Touch tablet could also be presented and marketed before the end of the year.
Phoronix reports a tablet named UT One is under development by Demski and Mastermind Group Hardware and Logistics. It is possible that groups need only load the Ubuntu version on a device built by an OEM, which could already be sold under Windows or Android. But that does not change the fact that the tablet could be UT one of the first tablets sold with the new Touch version of Ubuntu as the main operating system.
The tablet is said to have a 10.1 inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, an Intel Atom processor Z3735D Bay Trail, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. In addition, it would have a port to insert a micro SD card, a 2 megapixel front camera, and the same back. Regarding the connectivity, of course we should have Wi-Fi, but also Bluetooth 4.0. Finally, in addition to the stereo speakers embedded in the frame of the tablet, UT One would have under the hood of a 7900 mAh battery which should provide up to 8 hours of battery life.
As for the measurements, the tablet would have a thickness of 1.01 inch, a weight of 635 grams.
Presumably UT One will run the 14.10 version of Ubuntu Touch . As a reminder, Ubuntu Touch genes are quite similar to the desktop operating system, but it has been designed from scratch for touch devices and it has notifications, various home screens, and specific mobile applications .
