Motorola will perhaps be the first company to push the software update Android 5.0 Lollipop for consumers. Indeed, a small group of testers who hands the Moto X Pure Edition 2014 began to receive Android 5.0 before everyone , even users with the Nexus 4 or the Nexus 5 Google.

Although this it might take a little time before Motorola deploys the OS to all users of Moto X, now the company has just released a "soak test" for people who have registered to test early versions of the OS. But if you're adventurous, you can try to load the update manually.

If Motorola has not officially released a downloadable update, a member of the xda-developers forums named graffixnyc posted a link to the file, as well as instructions for installing Android 5.0 on a Moto X 2nd generation.

Note that some people (especially those with Rootes devices) have had some trouble installing this update manually, so make sure you read the xda-developer over forum before you start ... or just wait for Motorola pushes update on your smartphone.

According to the release notes of Motorola, the software update offers Android 5.0 Lollipop and "other improvements", including the new design "Material Design" Google, various notification options that give you more control over how and where you will see alerts and a Quick Settings panel updated.

Of course, Moto X users will also continue to use the specific features of Motorola , including Motorcycle Display to display notifications even when the screen is off, Moto Shares which offers gesture controls and Moto Assist that allows you now choose when you do not want to be bothered by alerts or notifications.

You can also choose to use the "Ambient Display" feature of Android 5.0 which is similar to Moto Display, although Motorola says the battery life would be affected if you use it instead Motorcycle Display.
