Samsung has recently launched its new Phablet, the Galaxy Note 4 , and now we're starting to hear rumors about its successor, the logically named, Galaxy Note 5 . Before anything else, and although it is premature to speculate on what future smartphone, it is important to know that manufacturers are working on the future model once all fresh out of the factory is unveiled. In other words, the day after the announcement of the Galaxy Note 4, the engineers of the South Korean firm went to work on the new generation. That is why we begin to have the first rumors and information about the new model.

Anyway, and while it is obviously important to take this information with a grain of salt, it seems that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 could come with a 4K Ultra HD screen , in the course of next year. Rumors suggest that Samsung will begin mass production of a Super AMOLED 5.9 inch Ultra HD in the month of August, which means it could be ready in time for the launch of the Galaxy Note 5.
Although the source has not yet been confirmed, Samsung has already said it would create 4K AMOLED displays for mobile devices in 2015.
4K resolution, also known as ultra high definition or UHD offers a huge definition 2160 x 3840 pixels. If Samsung does offer this resolution in a 5.9-inch screen, this results in a pixel density of 746 ppi. As you can imagine, the higher the density of pixels, the higher the image quality is better. In comparison, the iPhone 6 has a density of 326 ppi.
As crazy as it may seem, Samsung will not be the only manufacturer to try to board a 4K screen in mobile devices. Indeed, LG has recently spoken of a screen with a pixel density of 600 ppi and 700 ppi, while Sharp has also been rumored to work on 4K screens.
While it seems that we could start seeing smartphones with a 4K screen next year, there are still a number of obstacles faced by manufacturers. Such a screen will necessarily have an impact on the battery, forcing manufacturers to ship a larger battery. Applications will also be redesigned to work well with the ultra high resolutions.
Besides the Galaxy Note 5, we heard about another future smartphone from Samsung, the Galaxy S6 , waited to board a qHD screen. The latter would be announced at the 2015 Mobile World Congress in February in Barcelona.
