Google has quietly launched a new extension Bookmark Manager for Chrome . Formerly known as Google Stars, the new management system replaces favorites organizational structure favorite Chrome default when you install the extension. However, this gives you access to a whole bunch of new features that you will not find in Chrome by default for now.

The current process of creating favorites has not changed. You can always click on the icon of a small star in the omnibox (search bar / URL) Chrome when you're on a page you want to keep track of. However, and now you can use a brand new search feature to better manage your favorites.
The new Bookmark Manager extension will also allow you to sort your bookmarks into folders, which is a particularly useful feature for those who use the favorites to save everything in a single folder in the dedicated menu.
The Bookmark Manager extension also comes with a new interface to browse the collections of your favorite, which is much nicer (and more graphic) the previous manager. Instead of folders and icons, you now have giant maps that represent each site you have decided to bookmark. These usually contain a thumbnail picture of the site and its name, link and description.
In addition to the purely graphical aspect, the new extension also allows you to more easily share favorites with friends . Know that you will be able to copy the URL into an email or instant message from a folder of your favorites. Indeed, the extension gives you the ability to share it by making it "public". A useful tip if you need to share all your friends.
