Google Fit measures your activity and nothing else

There are some days, Google has officially released its application activity monitoring, Google Fit . As the platform HealthKit Apple and Health S Samsung previously, Google Fit aims to help you lead a healthier life by keeping track of your activity and other parameters related to health. If the application has already managed to attract a variety of partners with focus on health, such as Strava, Withings, Runtastic Runkeeper applications, Google has mentioned wanting to add more in the coming weeks.

Google Fit is only available on devices running Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 or above and on the Web, but it synchronizes with devices Android Wear , which are much more reliable in monitoring activity. The application extracts data from your smartwatch to fulfill its own graphics and provide you a better idea of your business. Currently, Google only allows Fit to measure the following activities: running, walking, cycling and any other activity where you enter the date and time, and duration of your exercise. But it can also monitor your heart rate if you are wearing your Android smartwatch Wear with a heart rate monitor.

When first installing the application, Google will ask you to track your activity so that it can more accurately determine your number of steps and so on. You'll also be able to enter your height, weight, sex, or define the purpose of the day. Recommendation default Google is one hour of activity per day, but you can customize the control panel. The interface is very simple and easy to understand. There is a pie chart in the top center where all your activity statistics are listed with various color codes. You can also see a bar chart of your activities or lines, showing you your progress on the last day, week or month.

As long as you wear your Android device with Fit installed, it will count your steps and document your other activities . If you go running or biking without your device, you can manually enter the information later. Google Fit also retrieves data from some third party applications, which should help to repopulate the small pie chart or bar chart quickly.

The strange thing about Google is that it does not fit detects the number of calories or help inform what you ate, or ask for details about your business objectives or on the weight loss. Google is likely to add these features in future updates.
