The latest smartphone spent in my hands is the Sony Xperia Z3 , yet another installment in the Xperia range Z. It is time for me to present my unboxing, and give you my first impressions on the new Sony Xperia Z3 .
Let's start with the basic features of the Xperia Z3:
Dimensions : 146.5 x 72 x 7.3 mm
Weight : 152 g
Operating System : Android 4.4.4 KitKat
Processor : Qualcomm Snapdragon 801, a quad-core clocked at 2.1 GHz
Memory : 3 GB
Storage : 16 GB of storage (expandable with a micro SD card)
Screen : 5.2 inches with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels
Camera : 20.7 megapixel (f / 2.4 and optical stabilization)
Front camera : 2.2 megapixels (f / 1.9)
Connectivity : 4G, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS
Battery : 3100 mAh (not removable)
Sony Xperia Z3: conception and design
Once out of the box, the Xperia Z3 comes with a charger and USB / micro-USB, as well as documentation and a pair of relatively standard headphones, especially if you already know the Xperia range Z of the Japanese firm. By removing the smartphone from his little bag, then removing the protective stickers, we find ourselves face to face with the Sony glass facade, like the back, giving the smartphone premium black gloss that many Xperia owners have come to love.
The front of the unit provides minimum screen edges on the sides, but still thick enough these black borders at the top and bottom of the mobile home to some newly designed grids for speakers. The Sony logo adorns the top edge just in the center, pushing the front camera on its right side. The clean look allows you to forget that we are dealing with a 5.2 inch screen .
The Xperia Z3 edges have a new look very rounded, giving a pleasant feeling in the grip . Moreover, I found comfort much more suitable than aging Xperia Z1 and Z2.
Is the famous on / off button aluminum in the center of the right side edge, with the volume knob just below, providing easy access for the thumb of one hand. A button dedicated to the camera shutter is in the lower right corner.
Micro SD port and nano-SIM is also on this board, under a rubber cover allows the smartphone to keep his seal.
The clean and simple approach continues to the rear of the Xperia Z3, with a small NFC indicator in the top third and the now iconic 20.7 megapixel camera with LED flash in the top left corner. As the back panel is made of glass, it is non-removable, as is the 3100 mAh battery inside.
On the edge of it we will have a 3.5mm audio jack, the only port placed on it.
On the bottom, the plant is completely blank and smooth.
The left side of the unit, another cap hides the micro-USB port. Just below, the Sony connector docks, etc ...
Sony Xperia Z3: Screen
Although the specifications mentioned a 5.2 inch screen, know that the Sony Xperia Z3 offers a 5.15-inch display with a good old 1080p resolution. While the race for pixels intensified competition with increasingly enhanced, offering resolutions up to 5.5 inches qHD on screens, Sony is in safety while staying in style.
I would not go into much detail in this section, but Sony seems to have done a great job on this screen, pushing it to a different level than its predecessors . His Triluminos technology provides greater brightness level, but not at the expense of battery life.
Sony Xperia Z3: performance and features
Although Sony likes to walk at their own pace in relation to exterior design, the interior of the Xperia Z3 is a relatively familiar story . The processing power is made by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5 GHz. 3 GB of RAM and Adreno 330 graphics chip complete the features of the smartphone. 16 GB of internal storage is available, meaning you will need a micro-SD card if you are a big fan of storage.
A 2.1 megapixel front camera will not happen to fill lovers selfies but the main camera of 20.7 megapixels allows the smartphone to be a strong competitor for the best camera on a smartphone to date. Recording at 30fps and 4K will be very good, and the pictures will be a beautiful effect with Sony image stabilization.
The Xperia Z3 provides Digital Noise Cancelling technology to improve the audio experience. Connectivity includes 4G LTE and an NFC chip, and the smartphone offers a resistance to water and dust, evaluated with IP68 protection. You get it all in a 7mm thick casing which weighs 152 grams.
As mentioned earlier, under the hood a battery of 3100 mAh is housed, which is on par with the majority of the jewels on the market today. Regarding its autonomy, it is obvious that I have to use the smartphone few days to tell you more.
Sony Xperia Z3 Software
The Xperia Z3 executes the overlay Xperia UI on top of Android 4.4.4 KitKat. The reactivity is very good, thanks in part to the simplicity of the user interface, which offers little change to experience "pure" Android . Once again, Sony has kept things simple, allowing the smartphone to be very reactive.
Sony Xperia Z3: impressions
On paper, the Sony Xperia Z3 is not a radical departure from its predecessor Xperia Z2 . As expected, it came just six months after the Z2, suggesting that Sony has not really had time to work on this last. However, many improvements have been devoted to this device, resulting Sony offers a smartphone, which according to my first tests, is far more powerful than what the specifications on paper suggest.
I look forward to you a complete return of the Sony Xperia Z3.
