YotaPhone 2 The dual-screen smartphone announced in December

Russian Yota mobile manufacturer plans to unveil its next dual-screen smartphone, the  Yotaphone 2 , on 3 December . As the album last year, the Yotaphone 2 appears to have a color screen on one side and an ePaper screen to the other. But earlier this year, we learned that the new model would be a little different.

Although the detailed specification for the Yotaphone 2 are not yet available, the image of the new smartphone visible on Twitter seems to be similar to the prototype that the company was showing earlier this year.

This prototype was a 5-inch AMOLED display with full HD resolution on one side, and an E Ink screen of 4.7 inches with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. D touch screens themselves are announced, which is different from the first generation of YotaPhone which was only a color touch screen .

The prototype had 2GB of RAM, a 800 Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. It is possible that some of these features may differ now. Indeed, Yota has begun to show its prototype in February, suggesting that the company has had plenty of time to make changes. RAM and connectivity could remain the same, but it is possible that the processor is upgraded to a Snapdragon 805. Of course, even if the YotaPhone 2 keeps the Snapdragon 800, it will still be much powerful than its predecessor.

While ePaper screens tend to use much less energy than color screens, a device like the Yotaphone 2 could offer long battery life if you put color aside to read everything, be it ' eBooks or PDF files .

EPaper screen on the first generation of Yotaphone could be used in many ways. You could view emails and other notifications, or set a custom wallpaper to decorate the back of your smartphone. With Yotaphone 2, the two touch screens could be used at your convenience as needed.

Yota is based in Russia and tend to sell its devices in Europe and the Middle East. The question is whether it will arrive in France, when and at what price.
