Apple interested in producing iPhones that bend easily

You would think that after the controversy of the "#Bendgate" that Apple has been the victim of last year, the firm would have the good sense to turn away the fact that iPhones are foldable. Anyway, new patents show that the Cupertino company is considering flexible electronic devices.

Indeed, given the controversy bendgate of last year, where we saw the new iPhone models 6 Apple be slightly bent in some cases (as in the photo below), it seems that Apple took the arm problem head on. Anyway, this idea is not really new, and most companies are turning to flexible devices in the future.

The patent, which was awarded January 6th, 2015 and filed in September 2011, shows that Apple has explored ways to create an electronic device that has a flexible screen that can be folded to make a smartphone that can be twisted without the screen or the components damaged.

While the LG G Flex 2 has impressed the press at the Consumer Electronics Show in 2015, there clearly has an interest in smartphones with screens and curved or foldable components, it is logical that Apple is also looking at the technology.

Curved in shape
According to Apple's patent, the advantages of flexible electronics allow smartphones to be more resistant to damage during various impacts , since the flexible device can bend or deform while absorbing impact. The idea is to use a flexible display, and a flexible frame that is molded with plastic, a thin glass fiber and composites that could afford to have a smartphone that is deformable without any visible damage.

An iPhone with a soft version could also happen with a new user interface that would benefit from flexibility. As noted Apple Insider, this could include the ability to physically press the smartphone to turn on or off.

Although Apple recently received the patent, it is unlikely to see an iPhone that is supposed to bend in the near future, but the fact that Apple is interested in this innovation is exciting.
