Archos has unveiled its new range of smartphones and tablets upstream of the Consumer Electronics Show, among which we find the Archos 50 Diamond smartphone which will be marketed at a price of $ 200 and the Archos 80b Helium, which can be purchased for only $ 150 dollars . The smartphone Archos 50 Diamond , already visible on the firm's website, features a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, with a density of 440 pixels per inch. Under the hood, a processor eight-core, Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 coupled with Adreno 405 graphics chip, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, expandable via a micro SD card up to 128 GB. It also features a 16 megapixel camera on its back cover, and an 8-megapixel front camera that will delight all lovers of selfies. The unit measures 146 mm high, 70.4 mm wide and has a thickness of 8 mm. It weighs only 142 grams. Finally, it has a battery of 2700 mAh. For the software part, it is unfortunately launched with Android 4.4.4 KitKat. However, it should probably get Android 5.0 Lollipop in the near future.
Archos says in its press release that this is the best 4G smartphone available for under $ 200, and while the issue is probably open to debate, specifications are good enough for a smartphone in this price range.
Archos also announced its new tablet 80b Helium , a low-cost tablet for less than $ 150.
