Holographic Windows: the next generation of augmented reality

It has been reported repeatedly that Microsoft was working on a virtual reality helmet, but it turns out that the company has developed something that could go even further. Windows Holographic is a new set of services that will allow users to view and interact with virtual objects in the real world spaces.

Using Windows 10 , which includes multiple APIs, developers can use to create holograms, allowing you to watch videos, play, manipulate 3D models, and more.

Microsoft is also launching a helmet to interact with these holograms . HoloLens named Microsoft, it will be launched during the period of Windows 10, which could mean this year or next ... ... or later.

The company says the HoloLens has several lenses, speakers for surround sound (so you can hear sounds behind us, on the sides or in front) and various sensors for detecting the environment around you.
In addition to a processor and a graphics chip, it has what Microsoft calls a holographic processing unit for interpreting gestures, voice, what you watch, and other factors. The HoloLens is a wireless device that can work without connecting to a PC, that is to say, completely autonomously.
The video statement HoloLens helmet showed some ambitious visions for the future. It gives us an idea of what it would be to play Minecraft in your living room, or conversing on Skype and watch TV on any surface, or walking on a planet on a space tour. The HoloLens could even show new ways of presenting a 3D product design of your business to a colleague.

This combination of HoloLens and Windows Holographic could be Microsoft's answer to Google Glass, or the virtual reality headset Oculus Rift and Magic Leap. In addition, the company certainly intends to attract developers by highlighting the fact that Windows 10 is now multiplatform, suggesting that Windows users can use 10 holograms on any device.

Technology seems quite similar to augmented reality, a buzzword in recent months. But early versions of augmented reality lets you do things like view menus and comments from the screen of your smartphone, Windows Holographic is a much more advanced technology, including through HoloLens headset that allows you to see virtual objects in the real world without looking at the screen of your smartphone while offering a sharp support gesture, voice, and follow-up of the head.

Microsoft is also launching a new application called Holo Studio, which allows you to create 3D models, while wearing a HoloLens . You can use voice commands and gestures in order to establish a series of pieces that you can send to a 3D printer to transform objects in the real world.
