LG is no stranger to the curved smartphones, since the firm has already produced the LG G Flex. But this new screen could boast of a new curved design, and it was presented behind closed doors at CES. Unlike the G Flex, the LG screen prototype has the same curvature, but it is much smaller, with curves to left and right of the screen .
This is actually the same design as that used for the Galaxy Note Edge , which inevitably makes us think of the Galaxy S6 Edge expected later this year.
Samsung vs LG
In the Galaxy Note Edge already marketed, the screen curve is used to display notifications and permits operation of a smartphone with a large a little easier.
According GforGames , the LG prototype uses a six-inch screen with a low resolution of 720p, but do not forget that it is largely a proof of concept. The resolution is likely to increase before the technology will make its debut in a high-end smartphone.
This is called "Active Bending" screen in the LG own marketing terminology, but unlike the LG G Flex, it does not seem that this technology is designed to be bent by the user. The screen is pre-folded rather than flexible.
While the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge should set a precedent by offering a "limited edition" of the future flagship smartphone from the South Korean giant LG-will he do the same with the LG G4?
