Joe Belfiore, Microsoft Mobile sir, wanted to reassure users of Windows Phone in the beginning of this year stating that Microsoft has not given up his work on the availability of Office on the mobile platform of the company.
In a publication on Weibo, Belfiore wrote : "our team working on Office has not forgotten Windows Phone ' . The least one can say is that the statement was more than necessary. Indeed, Windows Phone users could be as helpless as the competition platforms, Android and iPad Mobile Office has recently been launched. And, even on its own website , Windows Phone is the third in the hierarchy, behind the iPad and iPhone.
Belfiore admitted receiving feedback and Windows Phone aficionados of letters "expressed frustration at these launches" , without "providing news about what will happen with Windows Phone".
An eastern promise
China is a market of growing importance for Microsoft, and Belfiore suggests that some announcements will be made to a dedicated event before the Chinese New Year, which will take place on February 19 . Some of these features will be "specifically for the Chinese market" and may be disclosed at the event reserved for Windows 10 provided on 21 January.
Although the features of Office on Windows Phone exist, they are in dire need of a refresh, especially given the work that Microsoft has done on competing mobile platforms. If we are to believe the statements of Belfiore, it seems that Windows Phone users can expect brilliant new native applications that will appear at the same time as Windows 10, which is designed to run on multiple devices and different sizes screen.
2015 may be the year that Microsoft will reveal more about the next iteration of Office 365 , with a possible launch towards the end of the year.
