OnePlus OxygenOS introduced his custom Android ROM

Chinese mobile manufacturer OnePlus has built a solid reputation with a smartphone One highly respected, including components for ranking it among the high-end models, while making it very affordable. Part of what makes this so special is its smartphone operating system. Indeed, the smartphone launched from 2014 comes with Cyanogen OS, a customized version (and commercial) of Android, developed by some of the leading developers of the open source CyanogenMod ROM.

During the last months of the relationship between OnePlus and Cyanogen cooled and stretched, so the team OnePlus accelerated its plans to develop its own operating system called OxgyenOS.

Today, the firm gives us a taste of what awaits us.

OxygenOS is said to be a simple and streamlined version of Android, which will not happen with all bloatwares that we know about the smartphone manufacturers such as Samsung. OnePlus focuses on OS optimization to make it effective, while preserving battery life.

This OS is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop , and it will have a "major feature" that has not yet been revealed. Despite the excitement and expectation behind this new OS, it may take some time before OxygenOS ready for download - the team plans to release a stable version rather than a beta version completely buggy. An approach quite commendable. Anyway, the OS will be available to all owners of the OnePlus One, but you will not be able to get it by an update OTA ( over the air ).

The co-founder of OnePlus, Carl, said: "One for the OnePlus, it probably will not be available with an OTA update, but will be more of a choice on the part of users who want to try something new and are ready to flash the device themselves " .
The good news is that OnePlus is committed to provide support to OxygenOS for two years to all those who have a One, which means that the owners still have time before migrating.

So while OnePlus revealed a new logo for OxygenOS today, there is no image of the operating system itself.

OnePlus recovered some pretty talented developers to work on the project, several members of the new OxygenOS development team have been Paranoid Android contributors, who was one of the custom ROM's most popular and innovative there a few years .
