Toshiba will arrive on the market with two camera modules compatible for Ara project . However, those who do not want to shell out hundreds of dollars can opt for a 5 megapixel sensor sold around 50 dollars. Curiously, no module has flash at the moment. Toshiba may have in mind that the flash should be on a separate module, and that the firm could sell another module with this characteristic.
To take selfies and make video calls, Toshiba is working on a front camera of 2 megapixels . Although we should see the first version of Ara project this year, according to Toshiba's development plan we will not see the camera modules before 2016.
In addition, they plan to offer a bunch of other modules for Ara project, among which one can note an NFC chip, memory expansion, or another to add his flamboyant TransferJet technology. It can transfer files wirelessly at speeds of 560 Mb / s.
