You will be able to stream media on Chromecast from a device Android (beta), or a computer Mac or Windows , and a variety of devices Linux . Support for iOS comes and goes. Currently the application is available on the App Store in New Zealand , and there is speculation that a launch will again be formalized shortly.

The change log VideoLAN was published there is a little over seven days, so the functionality should be ready to be deployed soon , although we do not know when yet.
Since its release there about 18 months now, Chromecast has done much to bridge the gap between television and other electronic devices. Although the list of services and applications that support the device has been steadily increasing during this period, adding to that figure VLC will fill an existential vacuum for many users.

Of course, there are other applications available to play media like MX Player on Android, and Chromecast support is already supported by streaming services like Plex . However, an open market brings more options to users. This is what will try to offer added support Chromecast VLC.
