Want to know if your computer, smartphone or tablet will be able to run Windows 10 when the operating system will be launched this summer? Microsoft begins to discuss hardware requirements.

During the conference Windows Hardware Engineering Conference (WinHEC) in China, the company confirmed that Windows 10 desktop computers will need only a minimum resolution of 800 x 600 pixels to run the new operating system, according to PC World.

In other words, it is an improvement over its predecessors. Indeed, Windows 8.1, meanwhile, is installable on a device with a minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels to access the Windows Store and run applications in modern user interface. Things are even stricter for users of Windows 8, since the OS requires a minimum resolution of at least 1366 x 768 pixels. In other words, the restrictions put aside a number of devices.

Other minimum requirements are similar to the last two versions of the OS . This means that Windows 10 requires at least 2 GB of RAM for 64-bit system, or 1 GB for a 32-bit system. The minimum storage is meanwhile 20GB for 64-bit or 16 GB for 32-bit. Finally, the DirectX 9 installed.

Devices with high resolution screens will need more RAM:

2560 x 2048 or more = at least 4 GB
2048 x 1 152-2 560 x 1660 = at least 3 GB
1440 x 1920 à September 00 x 1200 = at least 2 GB
960 x 540-1 Web 366 x 768 = 1 GB
Another difference is the screen size on which the professional and consumer versions of Windows 10 can run. The Professional Edition requires just a 7-inch screen, while the iteration for consumers needs an 8-inch screen. However, both versions will be more relevant for manufacturers of tablets that PC manufacturers. Windows 10 also comes with UEFI 2.3.1 of the firmware , and every copy of the OS will have the cryptographic component Trusted Platform Module hardware.

At the same time, Microsoft also revealed the Windows 10 requirements for phones, a version that will be published simultaneously with the desktop version. Mobile devices also require some fairly obvious features such as cellular connectivity, speakers, headphones, headphone jacks, Wi-Fi connectivity, an on / off button and another to adjust the volume.

Earlier this week at WinHEC, Terry Myerson, head of operating systems at Microsoft, said that Windows 10 will arrive this summer without mentioning a specific date. The new OS will be a free upgrade for users running Windows 7, 8 and 8.1. Even those with pirated versions of Windows can take advantage of this offer.
