The US Patent and Trademark Office (via Engadget ) has issued a patent granted to Google in late last week titled "Interfaces for Interactive Electronics Agent That Support Social Cues" and that could end up as little more than a game child.
Indeed, this voice command device connected to the Internet would be an anthropomorphic according to the patent system, which may take the form of a doll or a toy, and can be configured to control one or more media devices. Unlike Amazon Echo, these smart toys could be configured to respond to movements through the use of a camera, as well as spoken words or sentences from a microphone attached to the head of the unit. In other words, this smart stuffed animal can control other devices connected to Wi-Fi.
Attractive user interfaces
Naturally, the Google device would be able to communicate with a server on the network , allowing the smart toy to send commands to other connected devices, so it is as functional as cute.
"Cute" is certainly what Google seems to highlight in this patent, describing the device as "an attractive user interface" for young children, thanks to his disguise similar to "cartoon dolls or toys," although "other physical appearances" are also reported.
Going a step further, the smart toy can "express curiosity, tilting his head, frown, and / or scratching their heads with one arm" in response to commands of a child.
However, the patent application gives no indication whether Google will actually make or sell this connected toy.
