Gordon Hollingworth, director of software Raspberry Pi Foundation, wrote on the blog of the organization that the hull has been in the pipes for more than two years. The official product comes in white with a Raspberry Pi logo engraved. The side with the ports of the Raspberry Pi has a bright red color.

Since its launch for the first time in 2012, the Raspberry Pi devices were shipped as a single board PC with no external housing. This allowed the Foundation to keep costs extremely low computer, while providing users with easy access to all the material of the card for the purpose of DIY.

Sound a bit late
That's why fans of Raspberry Pi, the single board computer with a processor based on the ARM architecture, have already created their own shells. Obviously, there are also several third-party shells on the market . Now there is an official hull designed by the manufacturer.
If the official launch of a shell probably not going to change people's habits, if you like the idea of enclosing a small computer with a case designed by the same people who designed the PC itself, you can now do.

Although the price of the protective housing is less than 10 euros, it is interesting to note that the Raspberry Pi Model B + and the Raspberry Pi Model B 2 themselves cost about 33 euros. The case will therefore cost nearly a third of the cost of the computer.
In any case, the hull is actually a nice thing! It comes with an optional cover for added protection, and a removable plate on the side. Its non-slip feet prevent the computer from sliding on the surface where it is placed, and the unit power light remains visible as long as the housing is in place.
As expected, all primary ports (including micro -SD) of Raspberry Pi are still accessible even when it is completely covered. In total, there are five pieces that fit together without tools , giving the Raspberry Pi strong protection it needs for everyday wear.
