Last January, Samsung launched its first smartphone powered by Tizen, the Z1 . Despite rumors that the Z1 has met mixed reviews during its first month of availability, Samsung managed to sell 1 million units. Having this number in mind, it seems that Samsung plans to release the successor of Z1, known as Z3, still on Tizen, in the course of this year.

According to SamMobile , the Z3 could be improved Z1 in almost all areas , especially regarding the display. While the Z1 boarded a 4-inch screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, the Z3 would have a Super AMOLED screen 5 inches with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Basically, the Z3 also include twice the amount of RAM with 1.5GB where Z1 includes only 768 MB of RAM.
Taking a look under the hood, the Z3 would be powered by a SC7730S Spreadtrum processor, quad chip clocked at 1.3 GHz, which is a marked improvement over dual-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz Z1. In addition to these features, we will find a battery of 2600 mAh, which theoretically should be sufficient to provide a range of one day.
An announcement expected soon?
At the rear, there is an 8-megapixel camera with an LED flash, and a front camera of 5 megapixels. Unfortunately, the Z3 should only include 8GB of internal storage. However, if the Z3 is similar as the Z1, it is equipped with a micro-SD card slot to expand this small amount of storage. Speaking of ports, because of the emphasis placed by Samsung in the Indian market, the Z3 should include a dual-SIM support. However, it is not known if the Z3 itself will 4G LTE capacity because the Z1 only 3G connectivity.
Curiously, the Z3 has recently been sent to India for testing purposes and a "partnership event", leading us to believe that it could be announced at the Samsung Tizen Indian Developer Summit later this month. Like the Z1, the Z3 will probably be marketed in India but a small expedition.
