Android has marked the year 2013 by its overwhelming market share
according to a report published by Strategy Analytics. But its annual growth is
the lowest since the birth of the mobile OS from Google.
The Google's mobile OS was installed on 79% of smartphones shipped in
2013, a total of 781.2 million units. This market share has increased
by 10.1 percentage points in one year (from Android market was
indeed 68.8% in 2012). Enough to satisfy even Google Android has
seen its lowest annual growth rate since birth. Blame it on a saturated
market which suggests that its growth slow even more in 2014.
For its part, Apple shipped more smartphones in 2013 (153.4 million) in 2012,
but its market share fell 3.9 percentage points in one year from 19.4% in
2012 to 15.5% in 2013.

market share stood at 3.6% in 2013, 0.9 percentage point more than in 2012.
It is however to be on behalf of entry-level devices.
However, BlackBerry and Symbian (and other OS) are endangered, their market
share has risen from 9.1% in 2012 to 2% in 2013.
