Google and Samsung decided to share their patents for 10 years

Google and Samsung have decided to share their patents.

Good news for Android users ?

Will it be called "R & D pooled"? In any case, Google and Samsung have

decided to share their patents and 10 years. The agreement covers patents

already filed but also others who will be for the next 10 years.

In the mobile sector, this new partnership will be particularly beneficial to

both parties. But this agreement extends to other areas, nothing is specified

on official releases. These two world leaders can now access the catalog of

patents on the other, which could lead to even more innovative products.

Obviously, what excites us (or not) the most in this partnership is the

emulation that this might occur in the Android ecosystem and even in the

mobile market in general. Recall that Google has the most widely used mobile

operating system, and that all manufacturers, Samsung is the one who sells

the most Android smartphones, each year.

In a statement, South Korea says it is an agreement to avoid legal

battles for patent issues, which are quite common in the world of electronics.

Example: Samsung is in perpetual conflict with Apple.

But we do not doubt for a moment that this Google-Samsung alliance also

aims to better compete. These would include Apple, with the

iPhone, iPad and iOS. On other fronts, the U.S. and South Korea should also

prevent the emergence of new competitors. For example, in the Chinese

market, the dominance of Samsung is increasingly threatened by

new names like Xiaomi.

And even if the two giants are now more or less competitors (Google has

acquired Motorola Mobility and Samsung supports the Tizen OS ), it is evident

that they still need each other.
