Google buys firm Deepmind, specializing in artificial intelligence

For some time, Google has not hidden his projects geared towards

robotics and artificial intelligence. Currently the California company

already has more than a dozen companies involved in these areas.

Although Google has already revealed some information about its

projects in robotics, there remains still some mystery around the

activity that it intends to develop with these robots. It would be a

very long term project, led by Andy Rubin, who is a well-known figure

in the Android ecosystem.

Google has confirmed the acquisition of Deepmind. We do not know

exactly how Google has paid to buy the company or the terms of the

transaction. But on some sites, it is called a price of $ 400 million.

Based in London, Deepmind find applications for its products in

simulations, games and e-commerce.

And it is perhaps this application in the world of online business that

has particularly interested Google. After successfully dominate the

global web, maybe lay down the law in the world of logistics latter

account.

In any case, this is what suggests much speculation in the

sight of all these acquisitions of robots (true) that Google did in 2013 .

In addition, last year, the Californian company has launched a

competitor to Amazon, in partnership with major retailers. The service

Google Shopping Express is not yet available in the vicinity of the

San Francisco Bay.

In 2003, Google has also launched a payment card linked to its Google

Wallet service.

Another theory, somewhat less discussed is that the firm needs the

necessary software resources to optimize "the connected home of

tomorrow".
