Microsoft SkyDrive gives way to OneDrive

After losing in court about the use of SkyDrive mark there six months,

Microsoft has had little choice but to find a new name for SkyDrive.

The company renamed its OneDrive service and perform the seamless

transition for users. It wishes to reassure indicating that they may

continue to use the service and all of their documents will be
retained.

The name change will be effective "in less than a month." SkyDrive Pro

will also make the same transition to "OneDrive Pro."

It is the United Kingdom marked the start of discord on SkyDrive mark

or, more precisely on the word "Sky". British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB)

has argued that there could be confusion between Sky and SkyDrive,

especially as BSkyB had (it was closed) its own storage service in the

cloud called "Sky Store & Share» and mobile applications named Sky.

An agreement had been reached with Sky allowing Microsoft SkyDrive

using the name for a "reasonable time", the time of transition to a new brand.

This thing will be done in less than a month.
