Since the update to 4.4 KitKat some accessories for the Galaxy Note 3
would no longer be compatible. Samsung has expressed very laconic about it.
As you probably already know, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 begins
gradually to receive the long-awaited update to the Android 4.4 version of
KitKat. This is particularly the case in Poland and Russia.
But now, since this update, many media have reported compatibility issues
between the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and accessories produced by third
parties - ie those that are not manufactured by Samsung itself.
For example, on the XDA Developers forum, a user complained of a problem
with an "S-View Cover" sound made by an external service provider to
Samsung. Since the update to KitKat , it would no longer work properly.
So Samsung would he voluntarily surrendered incompatible accessories that
did not come out of its factories? If this is the case, the policy does not seem
too please many users. Their side, our colleagues have Phonandroid refers to
ID chip inside the Galaxy Note 3 and its accessories. And firmware Samsung
might have enabled features associated with these chips.
For its part, South Korea has spoken and here is what he would have
said: "To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for users of Samsung
products, we recommend using only their original brand accessories.
Customers can of course continue to use third-party accessories, however the
full functionality of our equipment and accessories can not be guaranteed
with original components since this is the only way to ensure that equipment
and accessories are perfectly matched. No correlation exists between Android
4.4 and the alleged incompatibility of third-party accessories. "
