Japan is currently developing a sort of headset which, unlike Google Glass and other devices available on the market, does not solicit sight but hearing.
While start-up and most of the major manufacturers of mobile terminals gradually introduce their models bracelets and smart watches, and at a time when Google is still testing its Google Glass, a Japanese developed a prototype, this time, does not solicit sight but hearing.
According to our colleagues at Mashable, Kazuhiro Taniguchi, the Hiroshima City University? has developed an interesting prototype that looks like an ear that detects movement of the mouth through the infrared. The sensor allows the user to interact with the machine.
The device was called "Ear Switch" and incorporates the full range of components that are commonly found in wearable devices: Bluetooth, GPS, battery, gyroscope etc. With appropriate applications, this device can for example be used to assist navigation without disturbing the view of a driver and leaves your hands completely free.
The timing is perfect since currently, it seems that Google is still fighting for that we allow the wearing of Google Glass driving, on the eve of a possible commercial introduction of its connected glasses. The "Ear Switch" should not encounter this problem.

This device could also be an accessory of choice for the blind. Currently, Kazuhiro Taniguchi is looking for partners to commercialize its invention in 2015.
