VLC for Windows 8 VideoLAN announces launch date

The launch of VLC for Windows 8 with a precise date for his arrival in the Windows Store.

It is via Twitter (@ account VideoLAN) that the team in charge of developing VLC announced the arrival of its media player on the Windows Store for Windows 8 (then RT). Advanced date is March 10. VideoLAN also plans to release the source code of the application, which will be conducive to its development.

VLC and will arrive in the form of a downloadable Windows Store application. It will be optimized for the interface UI modern operating system.

The development of the VLC app for Windows 8 and RT has been funded via the crowdfunding site Kickstarter has it there over a year and a half. The campaign had met at the time the sum of € 57,000.

Already in early February, we had been able to understand that the launch of VLC for Windows 8/RT was imminent with the release of screenshots. Concerns about audio management, however, had delayed the finalization of the application.
