Alcatel One Touch D820 a smartphone with a screen WQHD

In another sign that the resolution WQHD is the new 1080p for 2014, it seems that another smartphone with a screen offering a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels or in the paperboard manufacturer for the least surprising .

Indeed, a smartphone named Alcatel One Touch D820 recently appeared on GFXBench , the famous site that refers to many devices, including those that have not yet been announced, and through benchmarks. It proved a gold mine for a first glimpse of smartphones yet-unpublished, and after the last update, it shows more specific hardware than ever.

If the details from GFXBench are accurate, this smartphone will have a 4.6 inch screen with a resolution WQHD and a MediaTek MT6595 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. You read, unless it is an error (which is very possible), the One Touch D820 would achieve a fantastic pixel density of 639 pixels per inch . For comparison purposes, the fabulous LG G3 offers a screen with a density of "only" 534 ppi.

MediaTek MT6595 chip is a processor octa-core processor with 4 cores ARM Cortex-A17 and 4 ARM Cortex-A7 that work together using big.LITTLE ARM technology. It will be coupled to a graphics chip PowerVR Series 6, which supports the H.265 video format, as well as Wi-Fi 802.11ac connectivity.

In other words, high resolution screen will not be the only thing that helps this smartphone stand out.

According to the website, the smartphone also features a camera 7-megapixel rear camera and a front camera 7 megapixels, Bluetooth connectivity, and a GPS chip. It is currently running Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

So what can we expect from the D820 in terms of performance if it ever becomes a reality? Obviously it will not be comparable with the LG G3, at least according to its own tests GFXBench. While other optimizations are likely to take place, it will not be as good as the G3, and this is not surprising - the MT6595 is designed for mid-range smartphones.

Remains to be seen when Alcatel will market the smartphone.
