Google multiplies the errors for the launch of its Android ecosystem Wear

Google has managed to get Apple gear by launching Android Wear last month. The first strategic choices are far from being ... strategic.

If the full review of the LG G Watch is approaching (including answering any questions that you have asked us about it ) you first that we get the alarm on the Android ecosystem with Wear a question for Google: "  Why?  "

The major difference between Android Apps & Wear

Android is Wear the watch, that Android is on the phone ... an operating system that manufacturers are free to use for their devices. I have consistently been able to express my opinion on Android phones where the overlay software manufacturer is a key element in the choice of model. Whether Samsung, LG, Huawei & co, each will customize Android to offer specific experience to its brand. A bad experience can ruin overlay on a very good smartphone, as a good means can sublimate end smartphone. The massive use of overlays is often criticized for segmenting even the Android ecosystem, making the update to the latest versions of the operating system difficult.

Wear for Android, Google prohibits manufacturers to add any overlay. This means that the operating system and features are exactly the same, and the models will be distinguished by the materials used, the screen quality and form factor  (believed by the Moto 360 to be round). This is absolutely not the decision we are challenging ... many consumers were put off by the first Android smartphones due to bad overlay manufacturer. By the way Apple, Google decided to further control its ecosystem to avoid excesses and this could be largely beneficial to Android watches Wear.

By cons, if Google decides to take this path, it means a great responsibility to make attractive the ecosystem and to ensure the least deceptive experience possible when it starts. And that's when the alarm bells should be pulled!

Wear The Android app: the impression of a ghost town

Let's get into the skin of the consumer (some early adopters ) who is seduced by one of these new watches connected (the public is not, however, only  early adopters  when we know that LG has included providing G Watch many buyers of LG G3 during a special operation).

First turning on your watch, you associate it with your smartphone and start looking through the Android application to Wear learn how to use your new gadget. At the bottom of the application, a "blue button  Browse compatible apps ".

When I launched the application for the first time, only a dozen applications were present (Hangouts, Maps, 1Weather, that sort of thing ...), then I went back on this tab all the following day to see how my Watch G was able to become a new pillar of my connectivity / productivity / ...

From time to time, 2-3 applications were added ... to get there in one week to 32 applications. It was winded, but absolutely not a problem. I thought wait for developers to adapt their applications to Android Wear. Seven days have passed and no new applications have joined the ranks of compatible apps. A little impatient, I go to the Play Store to launch the search "Android Wear."

First surprise, one of the first results is "Evernote for Android Wear", developed by the giant Evernote turns out to be from one of the most used on my G Watch app. Complete, highly integrated, one such model. Today it is still absent from the list of applications on the Android app Wear. I looked for a reason to keep two plausible.

1. For one reason or another, the application of Evernote does not meet the quality requirements imposed by Google for Android Wear. In particular, I thought about the fact that Evernote offers functionality in a separate ... where the simplest would be to integrate it into the Mothership app: Evernote.

2. Application advantageously replaces Google on Android Keep Wear, a product Made in the giant Google is seeking to impose since March 2013 The Mountain View firm might want to allow a head start before allowing access to Android for its biggest competitor in this sector.

In both cases, flimsy reasons especially when you think that this beautiful integration of Evernote could be an argument to attract its many Evernote users.

But anyway ... never mind.

While the counter seems to be stuck at 32 on the official application Android Apps Wear ... Wear a search allows you to find some very good applications ... and especially Wear Store.

Wear Store, too much for my ecosystem

Wear Store an application that was just answered all my issues in recent days. Unofficial application developed by an amateur Android Wear, he lived all suitable applications for the new operating system from Google wearable. In response to a real demand for many owners of G Watch or Gear Live lack of content, the application was organized into clear categories, with a charge / charge filter, a system of "featured" set up by the developer, etc.

Second day to use the application to find the nuggets for my Android Wear, the application displays the following message: "Wear Store has-been removed from Google Play." Indeed, the developer received an email explaining that the application was removed for "violation of intellectual property, identity theft or deceptive conduct in relation to the content policy of Google."

Obviously, the application looked like a blind application because the developer had to provide what Google had forgotten to offer its ecosystem. Google has decided to give a stick to a developer who deserved a medal. I must say ... the guys really helped to support the Android ecosystem Wear providing real access to a growing number of applications.

And meanwhile, the Android app Wear continues to show its 32 applications ... giving the false impression of a ghost town to an ecosystem when it is most fragile.
