Samsung Gear VR: new information is revealed by SamMobile

New information about the Gear VR virtual reality headset from Samsung.

Like Oculus VR ( acquired by Facebook ), Sony and Google ( with its Cardboard ), Samsung is also preparing to embark on the adventure of virtual reality helmets. For now, the existence of its product called Gear VR is not official. Thus, all information relating thereto are not yet confirmed. Nevertheless SamMobile website says its sources are reliable.

There are a few weeks, the site has unveiled the design of the helmet Samsung via a press report stolen. He returns this time with alleged screenshot of the mobile application that will be used to pair a smartphone with Gear VR catches.

If the rumors about it are true, Samsung could afford to impose a new market. Unlike the prototype VR Oculus, the product South Korea is preparing to launch using the computing power of a smartphone and its sensors to provide the immersive experience.

In practice this means that the product could therefore be sold at a lower price but will instead require a compatible smartphone. Cardboard and unlike Google, which adopted the same approach, the VR Gear Samsung should look more like a commercial product.

According to initial speculation, Samsung will introduce the VR Gear at IFA Berlin, at the same time as the Galaxy Note 4 The hardware part was developed by Samsung itself while the software part was developed with Oculus VR.

Samsung have also prepared a section of Samsung Apps (his blind applications) that will be dedicated to apps for the new helmet. After the presentation, it also would plan to put a development kit for virtual reality available to those who want to create apps for the VR Gear.
