First look at Windows 10 Technical Preview

While Microsoft plans to launch Windows 10 in mid-2015, know that you can download a "preview" of the next operating system the Redmond today release. To do this, simply sign up freely and Microsoft Windows Insider program will provide you a license and a choice of download links for 32-bit or 64-bit version. Then you just have to burn the ISO image to a DVD and you can use it to install Windows on your computer. Another method is through a virtual machine as I explained at this link.

Before using, it is important to keep in mind that this is a version preview of Windows 10 , and there may be some features not completed, or some bugs when using it. Microsoft plans to launch a number of updates to the members of the program Windows Insider and hopes that testers will provide feedback that will help the company improve the operating system before it is launched to the public this year next.

Although the company offered preview of some recent versions of Windows, it does not tend to provide regular updates. In other words, this is something new which is moving the technology giant.

At this point, Windows 10 looks like a tasty mix of Windows 7 and Windows 8 It has an office with a Start menu -. but this menu borrows Lives Tiles on the Home screen of Windows 8.

These can show the details of your calendar, your favorite news and other a-glance information. You can resize or unpin tiles that you do not want to see. You can add as many tiles as you want, since the Start menu will expand to accommodate them. And if you do not want to see the tiles at all, simply dépingler all applications to get a menu with a single column that is very similar to Windows 7 Start menu.
The menu to the left of these tiles so closely resembles the Windows 7 Start menu, where you will find your user name at the top, followed by favorite folders and recently launched applications. There is also a universal search box at the bottom of the menu, which seeks not only on your computer, but also on the Internet (Bing).

You do not like the vertical space that takes the Start menu? Simply enter the top menu, and drag it down so it becomes wider, but lower.

There is also a dedicated icon for this Search application in the taskbar. By clicking in the search box, you will be able to see the latest research and trending topics on the web. Of course you can simply start typing a new search query in this area. The search window takes a little corner of your screen when you press it, but once you enter a search term and press enter, the Search application for Windows opens.

If you use the operating system on a tablet or other device with a touch screen instead of a laptop, you'll still be able to see a splash screen in full screen mode. However, desktop users will get a user interface that is more friendly and optimized for use with the keyboard and mouse.

You can also choose to use the Windows 8 home screen on a laptop or desktop. Just click on the Start menu, you go into the properties of the menu, and choose "Start Menu" tab. Therefore, click the box "Use the Start menu INSTEAD of the Start screen" . Here, you can pretend you're running Windows 8.1.

Windows 10 should be able to run most software that works with Windows 8 or later, and I had no problem to install the Google Chrome web browser or other application. But, it can also run free and paid apps in the Windows Store.

While the Windows Store applications operate exclusively in full screen mode on Windows 8, you'll be able to run these applications in windowed mode on Windows 10 This allows you to resize and move applications, and you can reduce or close applications using a toolbar at the top of the window.

In other words, the Windows Store applications now act more like traditional desktop applications. They are just distributed by the Windows Store, and most seem to have bright colors and large touch interfaces dedicated to environment. This might not be so important if you use a desktop or a laptop, but it means that applications will work well with tablets, laptops, touch screen devices or 2-in-1.

If you put an application on the side of the screen, Windows 10 will also show a list of other applications running if you want to break on the other side of the screen.

There is also a new icon settings for the applications of Windows Store. By clicking on the "..." at the top left of each Metro application, you'll be able to show various options, such as sharing. Basically this "replaces" the Charms bar of Windows 8.

Microsoft has also provided more options to organize applications on your screen and move between applications.

There is a "Task View" icon in the taskbar that shows you thumbnails for all applications that currently run on your environment. You will also notice a new "Add a desktop" button at the bottom of the screen.

You can use it to create a new virtual desktop, so you can organize some applications to suit your mood - as if you were using multiple screens. Then you can navigate between these offices directly under the "Task View".

Virtual offices are new to Windows users, but they were available to Linux users for years. Yet it is an addition that is welcome - especially for users of devices with small screen or low resolution. You can also use the keyboard shortcut Alt + Tab to see thumbnails of your applications.

A major reason for deploying Microsoft Windows 10 Technical Preview to the public is the fact gather feedback from users. To help you, there is a new feedback tool, Windows Feedback, which you can find in the Start menu.

It is designed to facilitate the transmission of your feedback about your experience with Windows 10, and offers a wide range of categories to choose from so that you can submit your comments on applications, materials, files, storage, updates, networking, or other areas where you have problems.

Overall, Windows 10 seems to be an excellent start . The installation process is fairly quick and painless, and starting the operating system takes about 10 seconds on my virtual machine.

It's probably a good idea to install Windows 10 Technical Preview on a computer parts if you have one, rather than using it as the main operating system. Microsoft does not guarantee that everything will work, even if the operating system runs smoothly today, it could be completely unusable in the next update.

The license ends April 15, 2015 so that we can hope that Microsoft has done everything to make it available by then.
