Samsung announced to have started mass production of the first modules of 4 Gigabytes of industry LPDDR4 DRAM for smartphones and tablets . Samsung LPDDR4 chip is two times faster than a typical DDR3 DRAM module used in PCs, and can support video recording and playback UHD, and the continuous shooting of high resolution image 20 megapixels, so it will be a real boon for camera phones.
But the result is that smartphones 4GB of RAM will arrive on the market.
High performance, low power
However, while performance is at the rendezvous, the LPDDR4 chip is denser and less energy since it only needs a voltage of 1.1V - 1.2V for LPDDR3 against. In other words, this makes it the most attractive option available to phablettes and tablets. This would simultaneously boost performance devices while enhancing the autonomy of the latter.
Because it is faster than DRAM DDR3 and designed for devices with large screens, it could also grab find in computers, inaugurating great laptops. While Samsung already mass produced this chip, we could see many ads about 2015.
Hopefully the Galaxy S6 of the South Korean firm took the opportunity , and if that is not the case, there is no doubt that we should find it in the Galaxy Note 5 - not to mention many other jewels and tablets which will be launched next year.
