HDDWatch, the watch that only geeks will appreciate

Normal people may find the ugly. But for a geek, this is probably the ideal watch.

Having inspired a joke in a forum, the French Jean Jerome, designer watches, had the idea of turning a miniature hard disk 1 inch, a MicroDrive, watch and christened it HDDWatch.

Then the HDDWatch what is it? This is far from a smartwatch. In truth, there is a more classic shows, the only difference being that it was made from a hard drive removed and transformed MicroDrive, the drive heads seem to have been converted into needles.

The design, which has nothing to do with those of conventional watches, certainly appeal to geeks and other electronics hobbyists. The bracelet (plastic) still please them more, with its pattern of printed circuits.

And above all, there is the small artisan touch on the back, because the designer did not erase the trademark "Microdrive" which is just above the "Made in France".

After successfully completing this amazing transformation (or recycling), Jean Jerome launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo platform. And if his relatively modest goal of raising 3,500 euros has already been exceeded, it is still possible to order one of these HDDWatch watches for 150 euros. The campaign ends on 17 December.
