[CES 2015] Welcome, facial recognition camera Netatmo

She can even see in the dark!

Netatmo is present on the market for connected objects for many years now and it even has a number of devices in its catalog. You may be familiar with its weather station, its connected thermostat or bracelet connected. Now you'll get to know Welcome .

Welcome is in the form of a camera with a cylindrical shell made of anodized aluminum. It is rather nice to look at and it will have no trouble finding its place on your buffet or even next to your TV.

Its data sheet is quite complete with a 5 million pixel sensor capable of capturing video in 1080p at 30 frames per second , and a wide-angle lens with a field of view of 130 °.

Interestingly, the camera sensor is made of extra-large pixels not being less than 2 microns.

Netatmo also integrated a night vision system based on an IR-LED and an IR mechanical filter. Welcome will be as effective for night and day.

On the sidelines, the camera will also feature an RJ-45 Ethernet port and WiFi 802.11 b / g / n , and a port which accepts SD cards up to 32 GB maximum. Finally, note that it is compatible with iOS and Android.

Functions are not left out, of course, and eventually Welcome has a peculiarity that distinguishes it from its competitors: it incorporates a facial recognition system and will be able to name each person who will in his field.

It also gives pride to notifications and will thus be able to notify you when someone you return home.

All captured images will be stored locally on the SD card and so they do not transit through a third party server.

It is not yet known when Welcome available on the market but the camera should be offered between 150 and $ 200.
