There was no doubt that Spotify would one day make its appearance in the video game industry, especially in a game console, but which one? The answer: the PlayStation. This integration is materialized by means of a new service called PlayStation Music , which is about to be launched in the spring of 2015.
This product born of a partnership between Sony and Spotify allows porting of over 30 million songs library in multiple devices. Although the service may not be available for a few months, Sony has already scheduled it will be launched in the spring and it will debut in 41 markets around the world, among which may be mentioned in particular the United States, Canada, Brazil, Chile, or Mexico, but also in the center of South America, and in much of Europe.
The supported devices are launching the PlayStation 3, the PlayStation 4 and the range of Xperia smartphones and tablets. But it would not be a surprise to see other devices, such as the PlayStation Vita, added at a later date.

Music PlayStation users will be able to connect their Spotify and PlayStation Network accounts , access their playlists or create new ones, and listen to music from the library of Spotify. The console users also have the ability to play music from the app, and while they are playing. While we have some information about this new service, there are still some gray areas, particularly that relating to Spotify Premium subscribers and payments associated with the various services.
The arrival of PlayStation Music suggests the end of Music Unlimited, which was built to launch the PS4 at the end of 2013. The service will be stopped in the 19 markets in which it is currently available, and to As of 29 March 2015. Of course, "most" of these countries are among the markets to be scheduled for the launch of PlayStation Music (Japan sorry!).
The ad does not explain why Japan is not in the list, but the answer is pretty obvious: there is not (yet) Spotify Japan. Anyway, no doubt that Sony is working on the issue and should tell us more soon.
