Apple launched a similar public beta program for OS X in April of last year. It started with OS X 10.9.3, the third update Mavericks, and was followed by a public beta program for OS X Yosemite. The beta version of Yosemite was limited to the first million customers who have registered but Gurman reports that beta versions of iOS will be capped at 100 000 customers to "maintain a high level of exclusivity."
Currently, iOS betas need a developer account asking you to pay 99 euros per year. In addition, developers must register their devices so that they have a unique identifier (UDID), so that the beta to work.
Public Beta programs are usually the winner win for fans and businesses . Consumers have the opportunity to try a new version and functionality it is full before anyone else, while companies gain a greater pool of testers for their provide feedback and bug reports. Microsoft has long offered beta and release candidate of its operating systems to the general public. Windows 10 preview program for desktop computers and smartphones is the largest.
iOS 9 will be focused on speed and stability, and there will be testers, more Apple manage to achieve this goal.
iOS 8.3 beta will reportedly be made available to the public in the month of March and beta versions of iOS 9 will be available this summer. The delays are obviously subject to change.
