The company states that each product will have at least 8 hours of battery life, allowing them to last for an entire school day. In addition, customized software and other features designed for school use are also embedded in these devices.
Archos says the shelves 2-in-1 9-inch or 10-inch screens will be available with Android 8.1 Pro or Windows as the operating system. These models include each 2GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. The tablets have a 2 megapixel camera on the back, and a front camera of 0.3 megapixel. 9-inch model will sell for about 200 euros, while the 10-inch model will be marketed in 250 euros.
The company also has a 11.6-inch Chromebook in the pipeline, which will be sold for 250 euros, and will also have 2GB of RAM.
Finally, Archos has a 14-inch laptop with 4GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, and Windows 8.1 Pro installed. It is expected that it is time for the modest sum of 300 euros.
All new tablets and laptops will highlight the quad-core processors from Intel (probably based on the Bay Trail Intel platform), and each will come with a 2 year warranty.
While tablets, smartphones and other Archos products have generally been available to the general public, these new devices are designed for use in a classroom , and it is not clear whether the company has plans to sell directly to consumers.
