The One Laptop per Child (OLPC) introduced the idea of a small laptop with low cost and low power, which could be used by students worldwide. But the focus would be on especially in developing markets. If the first units were shipped in 2007, in recent years developers have improved the hardware and software, which has inspired consumer devices such as netbooks and other projects focused on the education market.

It's been a few years since OLPC has launched a new laptop, and a large part of the core team left the project. Today, the partners of the firm have shifted to Android tablets at low prices.
But Australian partner of OLPC, One Education, decided to resume where left the OLPC project. They just introduced a new modular design to the laptop called the XO-Infinity . It is a modular laptop designed to be updated and amended, and which could be shipped in 2016.
The idea is to provide children with a single laptop they can use throughout their school years by providing the ability to change the components whenever the student needs change. One Education said that the laptop should be helpful for ten years rather than one or two years.
Basic computer will be a small durable machine offering all support a range of components, including touch screens and keyboards, ARM or x86 chips and operating systems, including Linux include, Android and Windows.
For example, you could snap a chip based on the ARM architecture and install Android for your young children on the tablet, so they can use the computer to interact with educational applications using a touch screen. Therefore they will become teenagers, they'll be able to add a keyboard to transform the tablet into a laptop, and share the operating system and the processor and use the machine as a Linux or Windows computer.
Need to replace the battery, upgrade the wireless module, or make other changes? Each component is designed to be easily replaceable: You do not need special tools to open the case to improve the system. One Education states that the XO-Infinity is designed for a 4 year old can assemble it.
So far, the XO-infinite One Education is still a prototype . The group does not expect to have a working model before this summer, and plans to launch a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for mass production later this year. It was not until early 2016 that laptops will be shipped.
