There is one year, Microsoft ended the official support of the Windows XP OS . But does that mean it is dead and buried? Not really. In any case, according to new study results Netmarketshare, Windows XP is even more popular than Windows 8.
The share of older OS has certainly declined, following the end of its support, but is still above those of Windows 8 and 8.1. The study conducted a year ago revealed that Windows 8 ( and 8.1) was installed on 11.3% of the machines, against 27.5% for XP. Today, XP has only a 16.9% share, but remains above Windows 8 and 8.1 handsets (14%).
Otherwise, the Windows version is still the most popular Windows 7, currently with 58.04% share. Also remember that if you have a PC running Windows 7 ( certified copy or pirated ), and if it meets the minimum requirements to run the future version, you may receive a free upgrade to Windows 10.
