Google is no longer just a search engine for a long time. The Mountain View company has diversified over the years in various activities. This time it was with Johnson & Johnson, one of the leaders in the field of medical equipment, the US giant has partnered to develop surgical robots.


Google invests more in health

The partnership with Johnson & Johnson Ethicon and Google via its subsidiary focuses on the development of a platform for robots designed to assist surgeons. This collaboration was defined by Gary Pruden, a leader of Johnson & Johnson, said: " Together, we want to give medical teams around the world the best technology . "

This is not the first time that Google invests in the health field. There are few, the giant search engine has filed a patent for an anti-cancer bracelet. It is not a first regarding robotics. In particular, a partnership with Foxcon for automating tasks by robots or the acquisition in 2013 of the Boston Dynamics robots manufacturer who worked in particular for the US military.

Robots in the operating room
