Hacking group France Televisions

The group France Télévisions was hacked allowing the escape of nearly 110,000 contacts identifiers.

After hacking TV5 Monde last week it was the turn of France Télévisions to charges of piracy carried out by hackers called Linker Squad, who managed to steal the email addresses of more than 110,000 contacts.

A huge piracy that only 1% of the contacts database of France Télévisions

This morning, France Televisions said in a statement: " Yesterday (Tuesday), an illegitimate access took place on a schedule to France Télévisions Service (...) This act resulted in a copy of a limited number of personal data ", the company, however, reassured by stating that: " No password, no bank details were concerned . "

France Télévisions said that even though the number of personal data that have leaked seems important, it represents less than 1% of its contact base, which has no less than 12 million contacts. There is no doubt that in the hours or days ahead, we will find traces of the stolen files since the purpose of this type of piracy is the launch and resale of information to the highest bidder.

Hacking led by Linker Squad

France Télévisions admitted that there had been a failure to secure him, but today the vulnerability was patched and that hackers could no longer operate. In fact, it was enough to get a simple URL to access a complete list of several directories containing millions of addresses and contact IDs ... hackers had only to use!

Hackers who managed to steal these mails have claimed Linker Squad and state holding " database of France Télévisions channels. All these data will be resold and shared on the web ... ". It would be the same group that hacked the Belgian newspaper Le Soir, which highlights after the attack on TV5 Monde, the risk of increasing this weighs on news sites or audiovisual .
