It will be a revitalization of the Xperia P range, the direct successor of the smartphone launched in 2012 by Sony. It will even have the same design. This means that Sony will move away from the OmniBalance design that the firm has used for the abandonment Xperia Z range since its inception.
By relating the old design of the Xperia P in the foreground, this may allow the Japanese company to have room to embed a fingerprint sensor, while greatly thinning the edges of the screen device. Nevertheless, this unconventional look Xperia P2 could confuse some people.
Heavy under the hoodInternally the Xperia will carry a P2 octa-core Snapdragon chip from Qualcomm 810, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a battery of 4240 mAh. The battery is one of the largest on the market, and we can legitimately expect it to be able to provide a range of two days.
It will highlight a 5.2 inch screen with full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels), while having the Triluminos and Sony X-Reality technology. In other words, it would be the same screen as Xperia Z4. This means that the pixel density will be much less than that of the Galaxy S6 Samsung, but it should provide a much better battery life.
However, the Xperia P2 may have some drawbacks. The camera is a 12.1 megapixel sensor, instead of the 21 megapixels on the Xperia Z4. However, the sensor will record video in 4K format, similar to what offers the Galaxy S6. In front, we would find a 5.1 megapixel sensor.
Hopefully Sony provides a global launch of the Xperia P2. Nevertheless, we can expect, at first, to launch in Japan, with a deployment to other Asian countries, before finally arriving in Europe and the United States.
