The other is a mobile technology called Project Jacquard weaving (literally) touch sensors into the fabric . This means your next shirt, your sports jacket or jeans could allow you to interact with your smartphone by touching your clothing rather than the device itself.
In other words, in addition to being the center of all your searches, Google also wants to be in your clothes. One of the first partners is Levi's. The technology can detect your hand to trigger certain actions, but it also recognizes a single finger or a multi-touch input for a variety of gestures.
Yet another project ATAP team
Google says it does not expect the intelligent tissue replaces touch screens or other input, but it could provide intuitive ways to interact with your devices when you do not want to look your smartphone.
Jacquard The project was designed and developed by ATAP team ( Advanced Technology and Projects ) of Google, which is responsible for developing new technologies. Although it can only remain in the form of project, ATAP team could turn it into a real product in a few years.
But the fact that Google publicly speaks of Jacquard project is a pretty good indication that the company considers it one of its most promising technologies.
