Microsoft Edge will be able to defend against the cunning tactics commonly used by hackers to obtain personal information or money, such as attempted phishing . Windows 10 will also Microsoft Passport, a technology that uses asymmetric cryptography to authenticate to your frequently visited websites.

With SmartScreen, Edge will be able to conduct an audit of the reputation of all websites you visit. In addition, it allows to block sites it deems subjects of phishing.

Edge has a new rendering engine called Microsoft EdgeHTML, which will allow developers to focus on the security aspect when creating a website. However, the browser will no longer support the VML technology, VB Script, toolbars, BHOs or ActiveX. "It is important to create a model of extension that is more secure, sharing fewer states between the browser itself and extensions " wrote Microsoft Crispin Cowan.

It is also interesting to note that Microsoft Edge will be considered a universal Windows application when it will debut. This means that all processes will run in a sandbox, which could prevent the bugs and malware of access resources during use.

Finally, Edge will have a garbage collector dedicated to the memory, that will prevent the browser to be vulnerable to certain attacks.

"We think Microsoft Edge will be the most secure Web browser that Microsoft has ever delivered" , continued Cowan. Windows 10, Microsoft's latest operating system, is expected this summer.
