Microsoft provides an overview of Windows 10 on small tablets

Microsoft has revealed some details on how Windows 10 will work on smaller tablets, that is to say for devices with screen sizes of 7 and 8 inches.

First reported by Neowin, Joe Belfiore, executive vice president of Microsoft's operating systems, showed how Windows 10 operates on the model ThinkPad 8-inch Lenovo, where he is in tablet mode before it is placed on its dock to act as a Windows PC full with a larger screen.

The version for small tablets 7 to 8 inches using a tiled interface in tablet mode where favorites occupy most of the screen and where users can click on the left to view a list of other applications.

Belfiore then opened the mapping application on the tablet before plugging it in to a dock, so that the application is displayed on a screen view where he offered exactly the same experience she had on the tablet screen, except that it was the desktop version.

The phablettes not included
The reason it can do this is that the tablets in this size group feature of the full version but specially adapted Windows, which manages traditional Win32 applications, and is therefore different from the version designed for the phablettes presented last month.

However, all form factors will be able to enjoy a unified experience through the collection of universal applications ( Apps Universal ) from Microsoft, which are designed to have a look and a similar experience, regardless of whether the version Windows 10 is on a smartphone, tablet or desktop PC.
