There will be at least six different editions of Windows 10, but only 3 of them are really aimed at consumers . The others are for the professional world and education.

Windows 10 Home is the operating system geared for the consumer, and for desktop computers, laptops, tablets and devices 2-in-1. It has most of the features that we saw in Windows 10 Technical Preview, including the new Edge named Microsoft Web Browser, Cortana PDA, the Start menu, Windows Store, and more.

Windows 10 Pro has everything you'll find in the Home version, as well as features which Microsoft states as to small businesses. We will especially find on safety additions, productivity and remote access features.

Windows 10 Mobile is the name of the operating system that runs on smartphones and small tablets (with screens smaller than 7 inches). It features a home screen instead of a Start, a touch-optimized user interface, and mobile versions of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

All three editions include Windows 10 Continuum of Microsoft software, which allows you to transition between modes optimized for touch and office. For Windows 10 Home and Pro, this means that you can automatically switch between a tablet interface and an interface for a desktop computer, when you connect your tablet to a keyboard or docking station. Continuum for mobile lets you connect your smartphone on Windows Mobile 10 to an external display, keyboard, and mouse in order to use mobile applications as if they were desktop applications.

But wait, there's more!
Windows 10 Enterprise has everything you'll find in Windows 10 Pro and a Windows Update for Business, and other features available for wholesale partners. Mobile Enterprise Windows 10 is essentially similar but for mobile.

Education Windows 10 is similar to the Enterprise version, but this edition is for teachers, administrators and other professionals in the education market.

These editions are all in addition to Windows 10 for IoT Core , a new version of Windows for low-power devices such as the mini-computer Raspberry Pi 2. There will also versions for Windows Enterprise 10 industrial devices, such as ATMs or anything related to robotics.

A true unification
So on the one hand, Microsoft said true when she mentioned she would unify its operating system to run on a range of devices. Each of these versions of Windows 10 has a common base, and universal applications will work on devices running on most of these versions.
However, if all applications developed for desktop computers can run on multiple devices in some ways, Windows 10 is like all previous versions: there are different versions, with different price levels and different features boarding.

For the first year, 10 Windows Home, Windows 10 Pro, and Windows Mobile 10 will be available as a free update for those who are running versions of Windows 7 or later, or Windows Phone 8.1. To date, we do not know the price of the OS if you wanted to buy a new PC, or your PC is not compatible with a update.
