Acer unveils Chromebase, a all-in-one touchscreen desktop

For better or for worse, the world has two new Chrome OS-based desktop computers, Google desktop operating system. As might be expected, Acer has finally unveiled the Chromebase DC221HQ, a computer all in a Chrome OS that was Tease in April.

The new range of the desktop computer will highlight two computers, one with a 21.5 inch screen with touch technology, and another with a standard screen of the same size. Both screens offer the same resolution Full HD, or 1920 x 1080 pixels.

Under the hood, the Chromebase will highlight a quad processor which is well known, the NVIDIA Tegra K1. It can have an internal storage capacity of up to 16GB. If you buy this desktop computer, you will also receive 100 GB of free storage on Google Drive storage solution in the cloud of the US giant. Acer does not hesitate to brag 10 second startup time for its all-in-one, which come standard with 4GB of DDR3 memory clocked at 1600 MHz.

Price and conviviality
The Acer Chromebase is available at a price of 429.99 dollars with a touch screen, or 329.99 dollars for the standard model.

As we have learned in April the Chromebase can be hung using a bonding solution to the VESA standard, so you can attach it to a tripod, bracket, articulating arm, or even a wall. Thus, it should appeal to consumers who have a small office, and to all traders that will easily orient at will.

The market
This new Chromebase arrives on an already established market, since it already has the LG Chromebase, affordable desktop and easy to use, priced at 349.99 dollars. There is also the Acer Chromebox, 230 dollars, which is simply a tower and does not have a screen. But it serves as a very useful machine that can be used as a desktop computer.

The Chromebook is incredibly mature market, with dozens of options available from several manufacturers, including Acer. However, desktop computers are not as popular as laptops, tablets or hybrid. In other words, Acer could struggle to impose this new device.
