Apple Watch OS 1.0.1: the least monitored heart rate

If you are a proud owner of Apple Watch with a keen interest in your health and fitness, you probably noticed some odd changes in heart rate monitoring from the deployment of the updated OS 1.0 Apple Watch .1.
Although the first reviews had started to fall on this update, Apple has confirmed that these changes are intentional, and now that the device monitors the heart rate less regularly . In other words, this is a deliberate feature rather than a bug.

During the first days of the establishment of Watch OS 1.0, the heart rate was recorded every 10 minutes. Today, as users had noticed, Apple has now confirmed on its updated support page as heart rate measures are not taken as often if your arm is in motion or when your entire body is moving. The adjustment probably intended to eliminate erratic readings while you're exercising.

As Apple has already discovered, the technology behind the heart rate monitor is difficult to optimize in such a small device that smartwatch - which is why many athletes invest in a chest strap.
