Compute Stick: Intel unveils the future of his mini computer

It is no secret that computers become smaller, and everyone is trying to nibble market share. There are some months, Intel has deviated from its core business (marketing of processors), releasing shriveled devices like NUC and the even smaller Compute Stick. Today, a roadmap claims show the features and specifications for the next generation of Intel Compute Stick.

The first Compute Stick has actually been a success thanks to its 1080p video playback, and when he arrived at a competitive price for a computer, it was not good enough to beat the competition in the streaming market. If one believes the roadmap , upgrading of the range will result in increased graphics performance and processing, and simplified features .

The first model in the picture is known under the code name "Falls City", and would be available in two variants, for both Windows and Linux, and it would be based on the Bay Trail Atom architecture. The Windows version 8.1 includes Windows Bing, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The model comes with Linux preinstalled Ubuntu, but it has only 8GB of internal storage and 1GB of RAM. The Windows and Linux versions of the "Falls City" include Wi-Fi b / g / n and Bluetooth 4.0.

In the fourth quarter of 2015, the Compute Stick "Cedar City" will be released, sporting a SATA 64 GB and 4 GB of RAM, along with a Core M. It includes support MHL HDMI +, so you will not have to connect it to the USB port to power it. It will just be possible to connect the HDMI key on your screen or your TV for it to work. The "Cedar City" will also offer support for USB 3.0, and WiFi 802.11ac connectivity, but it will happen only in Windows 10 version with Bing.

Finally, sometime in the first half of 2016 we should see the "Falls City 2" , again in Windows 10 and Linux variants, and powered by the newly announced Atom chips Broxton. This second wave will MHL compatibility, and the internal storage will be increased with the Windows 10 version with a 64GB eMMC disk.

While the first version "Falls City" will not offer support for 4K resolution, both the "Cedar City" and "Falls City 2" the offer, with the second version of "Falls City" boasting improved graphics performance.

Of course, all this is speculation, but the roadmap seems legitimate and is based on what we already know about Intel's plans for its Compute Stick.
