Provide a new method to send to a friend your Facebook actuates location l, this is the feature that has just pushed the development team working on Facebook Messenger. It provides a visual map of your current location or a destination location you want to share with your closest friends.

As mentioned in the publication on Facebook Newsroom, this action can be performed in a conversation, particularly when trying to coordinate a meeting place with friends.

To use a card sharing within Messenger, just simply press the pin location or the icon with the three dots at the bottom of the mobile interface. The user then sees display the search option of a nearby landmark, the location of a business or the address to share in the mapping functionality. Of course, users can also share its current location to share his friend the progress of his trip.

Facebook began rolling out this update for Messenger users today, but did not say when the feature would be available to all. Of course, if a user has disabled location services within Messenger, this new location sharing feature will not be accessible.

It will open the floodgates
Anyone concerned with privacy may want to completely disable location services. However, and quite logically, Facebook will not be able to share your location with a friend, unless you expressly authorize the action. Facebook says it will not track the location of a user in the background, if the Messenger app is not active.

If you prefer to disable location sharing in iOS, you can navigate to "Settings> Privacy> Location> Services" and change the option for Facebook Messenger to "Never." If you are using an Android device, simply open the Settings tab within the app, and select "Location".
